Growing My Business

new choice for BUSINESS SEARCH

grow with us - Pick Your show

“All successful companies are unique, all unsuccessful companies are the same”

The following is the fastest way of finding information, insights, and tools for growing my business. However, before we start, a few thoughts on how to select which free business growth shows for listening or download.

The problem we struggled with for over 4 decades - there is no formula for success because every moment in business happens just once. This makes creating universal models difficult and a fool's errand. Instead, our approach is to work from a set of general rules in the form of the critical questions for Starting, Growing, and Exiting a Business.

Our programming provides FREE business growth shows for listening or download that fits your business today. We deliver what you need based on where you are and leads to 2 fundamental questions: Where Are You and What Are Your Issues?

Where Are You? Current Stage of Growth & A Different Type of Business Plan

  • Stage II: GoLive - Open for Business (1-2pm Toronto Canada, 9-10am Sydney Australia, 10:30-1130am Mumbai India, 12-1pm Accra Ghana)

  • Stage IV: Hockey Stick Growth - Achieving Full Potential (3-4pm Toronto Canada, 11-12pm Sydney Australia, 1230-130pm Mumbai India, 2-3pm Accra Ghana)
Exiting Your Business or Reinventing - RENEWAL PLAN
  • Stage V: Sell or Self Fund - Maximize Profits (4-5pm Toronto Canada, 12-1pm Sydney Australia, 130-230pm Mumbai India, 3-4pm Accra Ghana)
  • Stage VI: Rethink Everything - New Offer, New Processes (5-6pm Toronto Canada, 1-2pm Sydney Australia, 230-330pm Mumbai India, 4-5pm Accra Ghana)

Select the stage of growth that represents where your business is today. The next step - select the day of the week based on issues to solve now

Example
We have been in business 6 months and the Covid-19 shut down has seriously hurt sales and we are close to closing - we are a Stage II company which means the 1-2pm Track in North America, the 9-10am Track in Sydney, the 10:30-11:30am Track in Mumbai, and the 12-1pm Track in London.

Right now my major issues are Managing Cash Flow, Getting Sales, and how to Manage this Mess - the best days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to listen live.

My Listening Schedule in North America: Monday 1pm, Wednesday 1pm, Friday 1pm.

The IBGR Business Model

“Holding Market Dominance is harder than getting there. It is about executing uniquely at every opportunity, it is not something you can pretend or fake.”

Our model combines three unique businesses, each looking for a fresh approach because of declining revenues. Let’s take the three starting with this business called radio.

Based on my time as a Radio Station General Manager, I wrote a brief article on AM Radio - blog post. I will keep this part short with a money shot. If AM cannot find an approach to programming that moves away from syndication and automation and toward local and several well-defined niches, it's dead. AM and FM are looking for an alternative profit model.

Over the last decade the Consulting industry has changed from selling experts to assets. Let me explain. The years spent managing a consulting company, the business model was to sell brains and manage calendars. You built a stable of smart people, some by topic and others by industry. They could walk into any situation, diagnose what was wrong, and offer the best solution for the client. You generated revenue by selling that time at very high fees. As the industry matured and merged it reached the limit of what you can charge per day; the market became saturated. This meant to continue growing the business the model had to move away from selling people to selling stuff - take what is in my head and productize it into a reusable asset. This made it possible to offer consulting services to smaller companies. Our parent company GrowthWorx has been part of that revolution and reflected in IBGR’s programming: DIY Business Shows.

Tackling the Chamber model is the third leg of our triad. Being a member of and having worked with multiple Chambers in the United States and Canada, I have reached the following conclusion - they are not equipped to help business owners become successful. They might have the want to but lack the ability because of bureaucratic leadership. Same is true of government sponsored SBDC’s (Small Business Development Center’s) and other economic development organizations.

Why? They are not run or staffed by entrepreneurs who have a bias for action, for doing something now. None share the mindset, the passion, and have the tools to help people they don't understand.

The IBGR Community is a global chamber of commerce staffed by entrepreneurs who are “Living The Life” transmitted 24x7 around the globe.
