See most of us operate on very consistent habits and values we have on a daily basis, many times not fully realizing or understanding it. Many times we see ourselves struggle but others doing things with ease, and wonder why can’t I do that and in other circumstances you do something really well which others struggle in and you say “Well That’s me”. Today we are going to speak all about the Assessment of Personality Profiles & its impact on your business. The concept of the DISC is based on William Marston’s theories, which postulate that people basically possess one or more of four different personality styles: Dominance – this describes someone who is direct, decisive, a problem-solver, a risk taker and a selfstarter. Do you know someone who is assertive, to the point, and wants the bottom line? Some people are forceful, direct, and strong-willed. This is the D Style Influence – this describes someone who is enthusiastic, trusting, optimistic, persuasive, talkative, impulsive and emotional. Do you have any friends who are great communicators and friendly to everyone they meet? Some people are optimistic, friendly, and talkative. This is the I Style Steadiness – this describes someone who is a good listener, team player, possessive, steady, predictable, understanding and friendly Do you have any family members who are good listeners and great team players? Some people are steady, patient, loyal, and practical. This is the S Style Compliance – this describes someone who is accurate, analytical, conscientious, careful, precise, meticulous and systematic. Have you ever worked with someone who enjoys gathering facts and details and is thorough in all activities? Some people are precise, sensitive, and analytical. This is the C Style Research has shown that behavioral characteristics can be grouped together in these four major divisions called personality styles. People with similar styles tend to exhibit behaviors in ways common to that style. Most individuals have a primary and secondary style but share these four styles in varying degrees of intensity. Our personality and behavior are shaped from three main areas: Heredity - From birth, there are distinct patterns of behavior. Environment - Our environment will impact our style. In fact, life experiences, especially emotionally-charged ones in our developmental years can have a big impact on our personality style. Role Models - There are role models in our lives who teach us what is valuable, or who may even reward us for certain behaviors in order to reinforce those behaviors within us. Each of these three factors contribute to the makeup of who we are! PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT… PREDICTABLY DIFFERENT!
