Introduction
Your business relies on people, without people you have no business. You need clients and a great support team around you to help you deliver your product or services. In Build your Core we address how you as a Dynamic Business Partnership continue to work on setting the tone through clarity, communication, collaboration which in return builds confidence and commitment into your business.

As your business grows the  importance of building a winning team is imperative. There are different avenues to build your team and in a time where working from anywhere has become an option the opportunities are limitless. The question remains though, how do you build a winning team? It starts with recruiting the right talent. 


Show Objectives
Once you have established the workings of your partnership (which will always be a work in progress) it is now time to look at who and what you need in your business in terms of people. 

The foundations you have laid will set you up to continue your business growth. Where are the gaps, what expertise do you require, when and who should you recruit? Recruiting for the right talent is the start to building a winning team. Recruiting is a skill that can be learned and having a strategy in place is required.

Once you have found the right talent you then focus on onboarding, training and ultimately ensuring you retain your talent.  As Richard Branson famously said 
“Clients do not come first. Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients.” In today's show I will provide you with some tips and insights on how you as partners can get started and what to look out for.

  • Lack of agreement by either partner on what is needed (difference of opinion)
  • Hiring fast


What You Need to know to develop an effective recruiting strategy
  1. Understand the gaps that exist in your business, using a skill matrix
  2. Create a clear profile of the position what is the need, what skills 
  3. What type of hire is this? 
  4. Who of the partners will be responsible for the recruiting process (play at your strengths here) 
  5. What process will you apply when there is a difference of opinion in the potential hire, staying objective vs emotional
  6. How much to invest into the recruiting process
  7. Where to advertise and who you can share this with, it
 
 What You Need to Do
  1. Develop your resource plan, look ahead, what will you need in the future and plan for it
  2. Develop a recruiting process that provides you with a solid structure
  3. As partners be prepared and agree who will be doing what in the process include a resolution process in case you disagree or hit a roadblock
  4. Involve your team where you can as part of the process, at the end of the day they will need to work with them, allow feedback and ideas 
  5. Skill test the potential hires
  6. Take your time no shortcuts
