The word “crisis” comes from a Greek word that means “decisiveness” or “point of decision.” A crisis is a situation that can make you or break you depending on how you choose to react. If you react properly the crisis can give you strength, power, and wisdom you do not ordinarily possess. But if you react improperly the same crisis can rob you of the skill, control and ability that you normally have in reserves.

Objectives - The WHY 
Most people allow themselves to be thrown off course by the very minor or even imaginary threats which then get interpreted as “life or death” situations. The reality is that in every crisis is an opportunity waiting to be found. The key is in the planning. 

Key Issues - Owner Perspective:

1. Plan for and rehearse potential negative events before they happen
2. Don’t mistake excitement for fear
3. Always think, “What’s the worst that can possibly happen?”

In order to perform well in a crisis we need to: 

1. Learn crisis managing skills during times when conditions are calm; we need to practice without pressure.
2. Learn to react to crisis with a quick-thinking, aggressive attitude;  to respond to the challenge in the situation, rather than the threat and keep your end goal in mind.
3. Learn to evaluate so-called crisis situations in their true perspective; don’t make mountains out of molehills, or react as if every small challenge is a matter of life or death.
