Arthie Moore - "Compassionate Leaders of Influence"

Welcome to IBGR.Network, the International Business Growth Radio Network, I am your host, Arthie Moore – Compassionate leader of Influence, Co-Founder of Ki Leadership Institute and founder Celebrating Humanity Int.

Introduction - P4.04.3PM – Celebrating Accomplishments Stimulates Creativity

Show Objectives

  1. Why is a Sense of Accomplishment Important?
  2. What types of things can help give us a Sense of Accomplishment?
  3. What are some ways to feel more accomplished each day?
  4. How can we build upon daily accomplishments and create a culture of accomplishment?

Here are some great ways to celebrate your successes.
  • Share the news with friends, family and colleagues.
  • Reflect on the path you took.
  • Write down your success and put it where you can see it everyday.
  • Sleep.
  • Thank everyone who supported you.

How can we build upon daily accomplishments and create a culture of accomplishment?

Celebrate the Human Experience

Celebrating your wins not only feels great physically, but it reinforces the behavior you want to show up when you face a new challenge or opportunity. Conversely, if you fail to celebrate your many accomplishments, you are training your brain that what you are doing isn't all that exciting and important

It is treating others better than they treat us. It is looking for the potential in others and then doing all we can to help them develop it. It is not based on our economic status, influence or talent. It is the highest level of living.

The Why
Key Issues
  1. Lack of planning or structure
  2. Failure to re-evaluate the day’s activities
  3. Focusing more upon or celebrating the wins vs learning from the ‘learns’ (losses or fails)

Many plans need to include other people.  If this is the case, communicate the vision and plan thoroughly.  Clarify the steps that need to be taken and, whenever  possible, get their input.  If you involve others in your plan, they will take ownership in it and more will be accomplished.  Do not expect people to read your mind.  Set them up for success by providing good guidelines and realistic time frames.

Evaluate your plan and make adjustments regularly.
Accept compliments. Receive people’s praise and be encouraged by their kind words. Do not dismiss compliments based on how you feel about yourself at the moment.

Be the “best you” you can be. Do not compare yourself to others or marginalize your worth. Choose one thing you can do this week to improve and grow to your potential.

Focus on what you can affect. If you are unhappy with something about yourself that you can change, start today.

What You Need to Do

  1. Become intentional in the day’s activities and create more consistency
  2. Designate time each day to plan, assess and re-evaluate
  3. Apply the SMART method to your goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic (Relevant) and Time-bound
  • Write your goals down. Use positive language – say what you will do rather than what you will not do.
  • Define your goals with details such as cost, time frame and resources.
  • If you have several goals, give each a priority.
  • Specify what you will do in a week, a month and in a year. If you can lay out a practical way to achieve your goal, you will be more likely to accomplish it.
  • Create a daily to-do list of things that you will do today to help you meet your long term goal
  • Review your long term plans frequently and modify them to reflect your changing priorities and experience.
  • If the goal was a significant one, reward yourself appropriately.
