Last week, I shared a Projections Worksheet that you can use to start your annual strategic plan by clarifying your revenue projections. This worksheet is a baseline for the plan because it helps you make key decisions about your service offering and thus the revenue-generating activities around those offers.

Check.
Understand what the differences are between SMART(ER) Goals – Specific. Measurable. Actionable. Realistic. Timebound – and OKR (Objectives & Key Results) and which methodology is for you.

Think.
The key factor in sticking to your plan:

Make the time to plan your work AND to work your plan.
I think of this in a "getting things done" kind of way — which actually fits well with our emphasis on operational productivity here at IBGR and provides a framework for setting up top-level goals that make it easier to plan around.

Act.
Specific actions:
  1. Clarify - Take the time to write down the vision and refine it so that it is at its most clear version of itself.
  2. Document - Write down the steps (benchmarks, milestones, action steps) that will incrementally move you towards that overarching goal.
  3. Implement - Design and execute an implementation plan. A series of sprints where you [+ your team] will work through this plan.
  4. Reflect - Set up a series of review meetings that correspond to your milestones and document...how it went.
  5. Report - Create a summary so that you can use it in later plans.
