Episode C.031 Sales From Selling Other People’s Stuff

Introduction
​This week we are concluding the emphasis on reopening fast and hard from the forced pandemic shutdown. The shows will cover how to generate revenue either directly or building the supportive infrastructure necessary. Next month (July 2020) we are shifting to building the best organization possible - the Agile Company.

Show Objectives
This show closes the loop on generating passive income from other people's products & services. When we started yesterday, this was about generating website traffic to sell your products & services. Once you have the traffic, the discussion moved to what else you could sell and provide additional revenue.

What You Need to Know
This process starts with understanding your Product & Service Mix: the current width, breath, and depth of your offer:
  • Width: all the products & services currently being sold;
  • Breath: within a products & service line, how complete is the coverage;
  • Depth: within a product & service line, how many different versions or variations for each.

Your goal is to look for what is missing and complimentary, not competitive with your Product & Service Mix. If you are competing with larger firms, the goal is to match their offer. Using affiliates you can fill in the holes and generate additional revenue.

What You Need to Do
  1. ​​Select Products & Services that fulfill your Width, Breadth, and Depth objectives.
  2. ​Or build out your customers value chain to complete the offer.
  3. Select a reputable company or affiliate network by looking at online reviews and analyzing the company's quality and guarantee programs.
  4. Stay away from complicated pay-out or investment schemes. How much will you be paid per action and when will you receive the revenue. This should be simple and If their model is complicated, move on.
  5. Find the Product & Service you wish was yours. You need to sell it as if you built it so find something that doesn't require excuses or disclaimers.
  6. Understand how you are going to place this product & service within current marketing collateral and how is the sales force going to sell it. This includes placement on the website.
  7. Stay on top of their fulfillment services. If this is not an immediate delivery to the customer, make sure you monitor the delivery process. Require you are cc-ed on any shipment or tracking information. Your reputation is at stake.
  8. Add feedback on their products & services to your vx of the customer programs.
