Introduction
This week on Overwhelmed to Owning it, we’re talking about that one thing that can make your business run smoothly, or leave you in a recruitment hampster wheel. We’ll be taking a deep dive into the importance of retaining your best talent, how to cultivate an culture that not only attracts talent, but also retains it. Also, how you can work with your staff to polish up their strengths, because we believe you can do more, be more and achieve more, because you were made for more. 


Show Objectives - The Why
In this day and age there’s a misconception that staff, or rather talent are replaceable. While that is true in one sense, there are benefits of keeping and retaining good staff rather than replacing staff that move on. In this episode we look at what make’s someone a talent, and why you should retain them. 


Key Issues - Owner Perspective (late Stage II issue):
  1. How much did your current employees contribute to success? 
  2. when we structure the biz - where will they fit.Building talent as your grow. 
  3. Do we design the biz to place people in their strengths or structure based on processes and develop people to fit? Polish up their strengths to get the best out of your staff
  4. If they were fairly compensated for their efforts - how do we repay them? how do we pay them going forward?


What You Need to Know - The What
What defines a talent, when is it important, and when is it not
What’s more important than salary.



What You Need to Do - The How
  1. How do you cultivate a culture to make your talent WANT to stay.
  2. How do you compensate your talent, and does this make them stay?
