​Introduction
Dashboards are visual tools that provide objective information on employees using metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) in real-time. Having individual dashboards for every employee will help track, measure and reward performance and align efforts so that the management and members of the business units are clear on the direction to which all are heading. Performance management that is built on individual dashboards helps organizations monitor and track business processes and activities that align with its objectives and improve decisions of the business strategy.

Show Objectives
The show objective for this week is to emphasize to business owners the importance of having individual dashboards that provide information on performance. A deep dive and discussion explaining ways to ensure that every employee in the company has a dashboard that provides data and metrics for performance will be conducted. Easy access to information enhances faster decision-making and employee performance is easily tracked to reward top performers and support for those who need additional training.

Key Issues:
  1. Dashboards are overwhelming
  2. Business owners do not share all the necessary data with employees
  3. Employees are not rewarded based on actual performance
 
What You Need to Know
  1. There are 3 key types of dashboards: Operational, Strategic and Analytical
  2. Individual dashboards ensures data transparency and accessibility to employees
  3. Individual dashboards enable teams to make better decisions and also, make them more accountable
  4. Gamification integrated dashboards make employees productive, engaged and happier in the work-place

What You Need to Do
  1. Understand your target audience
  2. Understand the data and metrics you want to display
  3. Build a dashboard that is unique to your company’s requirement
  4. Keep your dashboard to a single screen
  5. Make the dashboard easy to look at, navigate and understand
  6. Focus on information delivery and understanding
  7. Design for immediate action
  8. Test, evaluate, and tweak

He has been a coach with IMD Business School, Switzerland for their ‘High Performance Leadership’ program. He has facilitated leadership development programs and coached C-level executives and senior management at various multinational corporations and some of his key clients include Deloitte, Adobe Systems, Edelweiss, Danieli Corus and Thermax Ltd.
