Bijay Kumar Khandal - “Peak Impact Mentorship Show”
IBGR.Network - PROFIT Radio. Everything a business owner needs to start, grow or exit a business. GROW WITH US. INTRODUCTION Positivity alone can't take us anywhere. We need to acknowledge and understand the negativities of life as well before we talk about positivity. In today's Show, I will be covering 4 fundamentals that are beyond positivity. Show Objectives - The Why This topic is critical because we all have messed up in the past. Unless we learn how to utilize the past errors for our benefit, we won't create a significant outcome in our life. For that to happen, we need to understand the failure syndrome and its workaround. Once you know how to come out of a failure, you need to make sure that we should not get trapped by the previous failure again. For that, we need to understand habits. Finally, to make sure that our habits are permanent, we need a mastermind alliance, so it's crucial that we should know the fundamental attribute of a successful mastermind. What You Need to Know - The What The 4 fundamentals are following: 1) Understanding the past and changing the present and the future. 2) Understanding the failure syndrome and its solution 3) How & Why of Habits 4) Fundamental attributes of a successful mastermind What You Need to Do - The How 1) Is your present getting ruined by your past? In my coaching practice I have seen that candidates have the following opinion about themselves. I do not have a sharp brain I am not competent I am not capable I have a concentration problem I am not a good communicator This is due to their past failures, if they stay in this pattern for long their present and their future is ruined. Solution: Invest in yourself, go for the career impact assessment, and understand where you stand and your possibility. Do a reality check, find out whether it is an opinion of others or a fact. If you have messed up in childhood or the recent past, sit and accept rather than defending. After accepting, understand what was the motive behind doing what you did in the past. Go to my previous episode, episode number 7, to help you get some clarity over confusion. Go to episode number 18, how to get rid of the dilemma. 2) understand the failing syndrome We categorize ourselves as "success" or "failure" based on: • previous impressions of life; • Based on the previous perceptions of our life, our motivation, initiative, and creativity is decided; • If we had failures in our life initially for any reason, we and the society around us start making judgment calls on us and start branding us a failures in life. • If we had initial success, then we and people around us start assuming that we are flawless and great. • Based on these episodes, our brain starts collecting the episodes to prove our theory right. Once you are in this loop you will be a victim of a self-fulfilling prophecy, and you will pay a heavy price for it. Price of negative self-fulfilling prophecy: • Our brain stop volunteering for creative ideas and solutions • Our self-worth starts reducing, so we stop growing because we feel that it's a waste of effort to try. • Then we get into self-pity mode, and if external help is not sought. • finally, we get into isolation and a huge loss of human potential. How to reverse this syndrome? • Get a realistic view of life (When we see people on the stage as successful, that is just the 5% of their work, other 95% of their work is hard work, which we don't see) • Challenge your assumption, and accept the human tendency of exaggerating negative. • Find a mentor and be willing to invest in your growth 3) How habits are formed Positive thinking alone can't help. Many a time, people confuse daydreaming with positive thinking. As in the previous covered that our past start spoiling our present, which eventually spoils our future. To get a permanent solution we need to develop new habits. How habits are formed, In 1990, MIT research scientist tried to understand human habits, so they took a rat Near to outer skull we can sense and feel all the new things and can learn new patterns. in the centre there is a golf ball like structure, known as basal ganglia. Basal Ganglia is where all the habits are stored. So our habits are like neural pathways, it takes some time to form the habit, once it is formed that Solution: Habits are easy to break and challenging to form, so if you want to create a habit to be confident, stop associating with people criticizing and putting you down. Secondly, allow yourself a time frame of failing because new habits won't form easily, there will be a lot of Pain, so your brain will naturally be inclined towards the old pattern. Third, don't get complacent that you have broken the old habit because old habits are not destroyed. They are still there. The only thing is that you have sealed it for some time. Fourth, make yourself accountable to someone so that you are on track with a new habit. Finally, Be in an association that is conducive for the new habit formation. (Give diet example) 4) 3 Fundamental attributes of a successful mastermind group 1) A supportive learning environment a) Psychological Saftey b) Appreciation of differences c) Openness to new ideas d) Time for reflection 2) Concrete learning process & Practices a) Experimentation b) Information collection c) Analysis d) Education Training e) Information transfer 3) Leadership that reinforces learning Group leader should invite input from others in discussions. Group leader should acknowledge their own limitations with respect to knowledge, information, or expertise. Group leader should ask probing questions. Group leader should listen attentively. Group leader should encourage multiple points of view. Group leader should provide time, resources, and venues for identifying problems and organizational challenges. Group leader should provide time, resources, and venues for reflecting and improving on past performance. Group leader should criticize views different from their own.
