Introduction
To be effective on the job, people need to be empowered with authority to perform their jobs. In an organizational setup, authority can mean several things. It is the power of a leader to command subordinates, issue out instructions for them to follow, giving orders and making decisions on behalf of his team.

With authority comes responsibility and for employees within the organization to achieve the business goals and objectives, there is a need for authority to be given to people to perform their jobs and to get the desired outcome. There can be instances where the responsibility given does not match authority an individual has and this affects the efficiency of an organization.


Show Objectives
The show objective this week is to highlight the importance of allowing employees the authority to perform their tasks. Employees must be empowered with some authority and power to do their job for active engagement, contribution to the overall business goals and their professional growth. The focus will be to show how to infuse authority, responsibility and ownership in the process of delegation in order to get effective results.

  1. Prepare a plan
  2. Provide clear instructions
  3. Grant proper authorization
  4. Follow up on tasks
  5. Review and provide feedback
  6. Give Due Credit
