Introduction

At IBGR Radio Network, we speak about the 6 stages of business growth in a company. In this episode, we will discuss the People aspect of stage 3 businesses, that is, that stage of a company where they are experiencing growth and have consistent revenue – and now are getting ready for the next growth that is stage 4, which is when you experience massive growth – the hockey stick growth. We will share with you the importance of creating Position Descriptions and linking them to Processes in order to optimize the results of the company.

Objectives
The objective of today’s show is to make sure that all work has, and is measured against, the ROI for the business. All Position Descriptions (PD) must link business objectives to core processes and provide the context for performance.

Key Issues
People operate under the illusion that if they do the things on a position description, they have done their jobs. There are several issues with this line of thinking.

  1. Position descriptions do not advance the company objectives and are measured against ROI for the business.
  2. Companies are unable to set clear expectations for the employees.
  3. The third key issue is to create a culture of ownership, accountability and responsibility within a company.
  4. Companies do not focus on long-term growth of the employee.

What You Need to Know
  1. Position Descriptions are good for businesses.
  2. Position Descriptions benefit the employees.
  3. Position Descriptions are Logical.
