Introduction
Clear and precise position descriptions drive processes and help measure performance.

Position descriptions are written statements which provide comprehensive details about a specific position. A position description (PD) is a structured document assigning work to a given position as it is expected to be performed after customary orientation and training. They provide details about each task that is performed within that position and they are useful for performance measurement. It is important to note that there is a difference between the terms position description and job description. Job descriptions are more generic and are often used during the hiring process to find the right candidates to match the job. Position descriptions are specific and tailored towards the person occupying the role and carrying out the tasks.

Business Processes & People Talk Show with Teena thrives on the concept that people matter and without people in your business, you will not have a business! This show will talk about the importance of position descriptions, what should be included in them, how to link them to the core processes of the business and provide the context for performance. It also emphasizes that all work has, and is measured against, the ROI for the business.
