The last couple of weeks, we created a roadmap from Goals→Objectives→Results→Indicators and used that understanding to build a strategic plan for profit.

Overwhelmingly the actions and initiatives that come from that plan tend to be directly related to your actions and activities. In this next series, we're going to spend time exploring support structures that enable you to just "show up".

First up! Treating your service offers like products.

By the end of our time together you will
  1. understand the benefits of productized services,
  2. explore strategies for creating your pitch-perfect product, and
  3. make note of boundaries that will guide you towards a mutually beneficial service offer.

All businesses are selling products, but service-based businesses tend to front-load processes that create inefficiencies.

Understand why you should productize your services.
A productized service is not a pivot. When you turn a service into a product, you are expanding your capacity and adding value for yourself and your end-users by removing obstacles.

Think.
Our key strategy is to create one clearly scoped offer that's at the intersection of a service that:
  1. You know so well, you could deliver it in your sleep...
  2. Your clients - that you know REALLY well - go ga-ga about...
  3. You'd love to d; several times over...

Act.
Specific actions to take around this topic include
  1. Define the product and identify the buying experience
  2. Review and document the workflow that customers take through the processes of marketing → sales → service delivery.
  3. Refine, implement, & iterate the systems for:
    • marketing
    • sales
    • service delivery
