Wow – for over a year I have been here, first on Monday afternoons and then to my Tuesday spot in late October to start The Smart and Savvy Business Exit. I’ve covered a lot of topics and have had a great time being here each week to talk to you.
This coming season I will be taking a break from the live broadcasts, and I do so with mixed emotions. I love doing this show, but I also have some very hefty fourth quarter goals for my own business. That is where my focus will be for the next thirteen weeks.
I did however want to look back on the topics covered since the Smart and Savvy Business Exit started almost one year ago. In season three I talked a lot about the exit plan and about the people it is important to have on your exit team. We talked about business valuation and due diligence. I also introduced you to one of my favorite business authors John Warrillow and two of his books Built to Sell and The Automatic Customer. I wrapped up the season with a few interviews; Mike Metzger – a business broker, Tricia Dunlap – a business attorney, and Debi Corrie – the author of the book Loving Failure.
In season four I did a few more interviews, but a bulk of the season was devoted to my building value series. A five-part series of proven techniques to build value in your business.
In season five I talked mostly about several different exit strategies. Selling outright is only one option.
Finally, I have spent the past eleven weeks reviewing my book The Big Turnaround, how bad management nearly destroyed and exceptional company, with a bonus Tuesday Tip every week. I’ve had a great time sharing with you.
