Episode 21
How to Be A Highly Productive Business Owner |IBGR | Donna Kunde & Londina Cruz

1. “Everything worthwhile in life - everything you want, everything you desire to achieve, everything you want to receive - is uphill.” - John C. Maxwell 
   
2. Productivity can be increased dramatically and immediately if we are highly intentional about it. It can be increased the most regardless of the level of giftedness a person has. If you are willing to work at it you can be successful at becoming more productive. 
   
3. Think of productivity as either climbing a hill or sliding down it. In the downhill slide nothing is worthwhile, we tend to have low self-esteem, negative momentum, low morale and we feel aimless and empty with no improvement or chance to make a difference. When we talk about uphill, everything is worthwhile, we have high self-respect, positive momentum, high morale and we focus on self-improvement while being purposeful and fulfilling. 
   
4. Moving uphill requires intentionality, energy, determination, hard work and consistency. Remain focused on the big picture, be determined, demonstrate character and put in the time. What downhill habits do you currently have that are taking you away from your ideal future? What uphill habits must you cultivate to replace the unproductive ones?

The Hero’s Journey to Entrepreneurship |IBGR | Donna Kunde & Londina Cruz

2. Joseph Campbell coined the phrase “The Hero’s Journey” and it seems fitting to apply the hero’s journey to today’s episode as we explore how to respond to the different stages and the results we can expect. 
   
3. There are three main stages of the hero’s journey. It starts with the call and acceptance of the call then moves to the abyss and struggles where a mentor shows up to help and guide us and finally ends with a new found success and a return home to share the story in order to inspire others. 
   
4. When it comes to entrepreneurship, we all want to achieve great results. One key to this is the ability to recognize what stage of the journey we are on so we know where we are in the growth cycle of our business.

4. Create a vision for the Perfect Outcome, Get to work, Be okay with failure, Stay Focused and initiate many tries at one thing, not one try at many things. How would you describe your vision of a perfect future? What would you be doing? Describe it in as much detail as possible.

2. In episode 23 we explored how to increase your productivity by first getting really clear on your vision and staying focused on moving forward. In this episode we will take a look at step 5-9. Once we begin working towards our vision we need to continually evaluate our progress and adjust our course along the way. Sometimes that even means creating a “To-Don’t List.”
   
3. Let’s take a look at Productivity steps 5-9 
   
   1. Take Inventory of Your Skills and Resources
      
   2. Stop Doing What You’re Not Great at Doing
      
   3. Tune In to Your Team Every Day
      
   4. Make Decisions Every Day to Move Yourself and the Team Forward
      
   5. Continually Reevaluate What Could Work Better. 
      
4. Now it is time to spend time evaluating your results. What is not working? Are there things you need to add to your “To-Don’t List?”. What can you do to focus more on your emerging future? Do more of that!
