Introduction
Welcome to season 4 of Talk Leadership with Cedrick.  Well actually, we have an announcement we will make shortly about the show.  Welcome my cohost Johanna Rincon to the show.   

Are you ready for a great season Johanna?  I am excited about this season.  

So, let’s have a drum roll, so our great announcement is that we have decided to make Johanna a permanent cohost of the show.  So, our new show name will be: Talk Leadership with Cedrick and a Cuppa Jo on the Radio.  I’m excited to have you as my permanent cohost Johanna.  Hopefully you are just as excited as I am, Johanna.

But our tagline will continue to be Everybody needs a little TLC.

Show Objectives

So, let’s fill the audience in on what we will be discussing on air this season.  In fact, the entire show today will be to give you a taste of what the show will be discussing this season. 


Key Issues 
The big issue I see with entrepreneurship is that owners for the most part are not building leaders from the inside.  I don’t see alot of small business owners providing professional development opportunities for their people because they are considered with cost.  Instead they should be concerned with what if that person, thinks the same way for 5 years that he is with my company.  Or even 10 years.  Who wants a person that never changes their opinion, knowledge, or skill set. 

Professional development gives your current workers an extra reason to stay on the job. Every professional development opportunity you provide allows them to enhance their resumes and also gives them the skills to advance into another position within your business.

• We move into 4 reasons why people don’t want the pain of gaining something new
• We close with PLAN AHEAD strategy

Week 5. The Quickest Way to Gain Leadership is Problem Solving

• We start with the quickest way to gain leadership is problem solving
• We will discuss how problems introduce us to others and how problems introduce us to opportunities.

Week 6. Positive Mental Attitude gives you the EXTRA Plus

• This week is all about the extra plus in leadership
• Putting whatever it takes into action

Week 7. The Heart is in Serving Others

• The heart of leadership is serving people
• How to be a servant leader
• We give you questions to serve people better
• Close out with a good application exercise

Week 8. Vision is an Indispensable Quality

• Where there is no vision, the people will perish.  
• We will discuss a vision statement
• Closeout with why it is important for vision to come from within

Week 9. Are You Willing to Pay The Price

• We start off with the price tag of leadership
• How to get to the top
• Closeout with a great application exercise

Week 10. Personal Growth is Required to Expand your Leadership

• We start out with the expansion of leadership and why growth is important

Week 11. Character: The Foundation of Leadership

• We start with the most important part of leadership: Character.  Without it, there is no leadership. 
• We discuss the 3 questions people ask about their leader.
• Close out with several character value statements

Week 12. The Five elements that define emotional intelligence

• Self awareness is the critical component or skill that we all must learn to manage. 
• Self awareness is to emotional intelligence as the peeling is to the apple. Protective outshell.

Week 13. Building An Executive Partnership

• One is too small a number to achieve greatness so successful partnerships are important in all organizations. 
• We give you 4 things leaders should do for their executive assistants
• Empowering questions
• 8 characteristics to look for in a partnership
