Introduction
Sharing expectations of work standards within the organization is a crucial function of a leader and business owner. Work standards act as a guide for team members to ensure the work expected is on course. Having expectations of work standards, presents the team from getting off track and wandering off on a tangent. It prevents the employees from periods of stagnation vs. periods of frantic productivity, ensuring that they are efficiently working towards their goals consistently.

The discussion this week will highlight the purpose of sharing expectations of work standards, what it means, and how to ensure you are sharing what employees need, in order to meet the standard set by the organization.

The show objective for today is to ensure expectations of work standards are clearly communicated within the organization. The focus is to share how to set expectations that are simple and those that can be practically applied, in order to empower the team members to tap into their best potential, not just to meet expectations but exceed them.

  2. Teams lack clarity on their goals
  3. Managers do not hold frequent reviews
  4. Measurements are not set to effectively evaluate performance standards

  1. Set Expectations from the start
  2. Millennials in particular thrive on discussing diverse perspectives and having expectations clearly communicated to them
  3. Communication must be enhanced for clear understanding and effort.
  4. If expectations of work standards, viz - team collaboration and empowerment are shared with the employees, it can decrease the attrition rate of the company
  5. Sharing expectations of work standards keep employees focused, enhances communication and eliminates stress
  6. Sharing expectations of work standards allows for constructive feedback and creates a positive work culture
