Show Objectives - The Why A responsible person is one who can be trusted to act without needing strict supervision, because they are accountable for their own behavior. Keep doing it, and you’ll soon develop a reputation for following through on obligations. This course is a great tool for businesses to learn to manage their reputation across social media platforms, check it out if you want your branding to extend across all mediums. Key Issues - Owner Perspective Generally, a person must fully understand his responsibility in order to satisfy it. For instance, in a family situation, one of the children may be given the responsibility of taking care of the family pet. The exact guidelines of what has to be done to take care of the pet should be clearly laid out so that the child knows exactly what the responsibility involves and can fulfill it satisfactorily. Shirking responsibilities usually involves some sort of consequences. For the child not doing his duty of caring for the pet, a parent may deny access to television or video games for a certain period of time. What You Need to Know - The What Becoming a responsible person means being able to consciously make decisions, conduct behaviors that seek to improve oneself and/or help others. Most importantly, a responsible person accepts the consequences of his or her own actions and decisions. What You Need to Do - The How Responsibility doesn’t come at birth. It is something that is acquired as you age, go to school and progress in life. Your sense of responsibility can come from your family members, friends or from something you see on TV. However, you can hear and see a lot of different things, both good and bad. That is why your sense of responsibility depends solely on you. You choose your own behavior, actions and words. So, responsibility is a skill. You learn it. However, there are different ways of doing so. You shape your personality with your actions. For example, it is you who chooses to be lazy or to get up early every day, or if you want to save money or spend it recklessly. It is about proving to yourself that you can be, and that you are, in fact, accountable. In the end, again, all of it comes down to your own conscious decision Shows Previous: Episode 6: Teamwork without fear! Next: Episode 8 - Motivation of greatness Resources FADY G.
