E17 The Millionaire Way to handle information overload
Do Millionaires handle Information overload differently?

Yes, they do, no question.

Every day we get what… 24 hours to live. Once you go through your obligations, you see there is not much time left.

Now understand you have 24 hours, Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson, and every other successful person too have only 24 hours; what you do with these hours is important.

The bottom line is Productivity is about how much you accomplish. So you need to work smarter.

Do you ever feel like you’re just spinning your wheels at work, never making any progress? You’re not alone. Nearly half of Americans say they would like to become more productive at their jobs, but most don’t know-how. Even successful people at their jobs sometimes feel like they’re not accomplishing much. It can be hard to stay on top of everything at work. Even the most organized people find it challenging to keep track of emails, meetings, and other tasks. Everyone can benefit from learning how to become more productive at work. Even if you’re not sure yet, these five proven strategies can get you on the right track.

These are some of the tactics used by Millionaires to become more productive.

  1. Plan your day the night before
  2. Don’t multitask
  3. Break your tasks into smaller ones
  4. Do the most important thing first
  5. Take a break

E18 Establish Productivity Intervals
As per psychology today, High productivity results from factors: motivation personality, natural talent, training or education, environment, support from others, time management, and even luck.
Physical elements also play a role in fostering productivity: Exercise, healthy eating, and sufficient sleep can boost efficiency both short and long term. Some people seem to be natural super-producers; others struggle to become more productive and may look to daily exercises and better habits to help them get things done.

Individual productivity hinges on mental energy and a sense of internal and external motivation. It often emerges naturally from work that they find inherently meaningful or valuable.

A routine is nothing more than a set of plans that helps you accomplish your tasks without spending time switching between one task and another. Stressing out due to switching between tasks is counterproductive and significantly contributes to your bad habits.

50-90 minute intervals is what you need to work with a SINGLE FOCUS!

E19 The Multitasking Myth
A common myth about multitasking is that you can do more things simultaneously. In reality, this is not the case. You can’t do multiple things simultaneously, no matter how hard you try.

Whether you’re trying to do two things at once or trying to do one thing and then switch back and forth, it’s almost impossible to do them both. Because you can’t do both things at once. That being said, research shows that humans are not naturally good at multitasking. It takes a conscious effort, and most of us aren’t comfortable doing it.

There are a few ways to stop multitasking. You can use something that forces you to focus, such as a timer. You can also remove distractions. Find somewhere away from any potential distractions to do your assignment or task. If you have someone else in the house doing something else, get them out of the room. If possible, set up your environment so that it’s conducive to success instead of failure. For example, if you have a lot of work, try setting up your desk in an open space. This will allow you to see everything you need and not lose track of anything. The last thing you should do is define your goals before starting any work; this will help prevent multitasking because you’ll know what to focus on and what not to focus on.

Unlike what we’ve believed, multitasking is not the key to productivity. It is counterproductive. It is impossible to do one task well while simultaneously doing another. The only way to get anything done is to focus on one task at a time.

Focus on one task at a time. And when you can, time for a break.

E20 Schedule time to be unproductive

It’s important to schedule a time to be unproductive. Taking time off can help you recharge and come back refreshed. It can also help prevent burnout. And it can give you time to pursue interests outside of work.

Unproductive time doesn’t have to be a complete break from work. It can simply be time spent not working on your primary project or task.

So, if you're feeling overwhelmed or burnt out, consider taking some unproductive time for yourself. It could make all the difference in your productivity and well-being. How to be unproductive for your mental health.

-Going for a walk or run in nature
-Reading a book or magazine
-Watching a movie or TV show
-Practicing mindfulness or meditation techniques
-Talking with friends and family

Once you have your unproductive time scheduled, try to stick to it as much as possible. By taking regular breaks from work and other obligations, you can reduce stress and restore your energy levels. And in the long run, this can make you a more productive, happier person overall.

Make sure you leave some thoughts in the comment section below. We are interested in continuing the conversation.
