The Referral Guy
S5 Episode 13 Episode Title – Interview with Laura Vanaga Introduction Laura Vanaga is a presentation coach and it’s my pleasure to interview her this week. The ability to give quality presentations contributes to business owners being perceived as thought leaders in their fields. “Wonderful Steve!” I hear you say. And this is quickly followed by… “But how does this help me attract more referrals?” Thought leaders become the go-to in their field for advice, commentary and yes… they are very easy to refer business to. Show Objectives To pass on numerous tips and strategies that will help improve your presentation capability. What You Need to Know Everyone is afraid to speak in public. This can be confirmed by almost anyone who has taken the stage or stood in front of the audience. That is why people who are able to overcome these fears are admired, respected and…. Heard. The good news is that everyone can learn public speaking. To reach the full potential of leadership, we women must be bolder, more ambitious and louder * . It is public speaking that can become a catalyst for this change, both in society and in personal growth. The name Oratore comes from Cicero's dialogue De Oratore, which describes the ideal orator . More than two thousand years ago, Cicero realized the power of words and the importance of managing them for people who want the attention and success of others. Today, this is still true - public speaking is one of the most influential tools to convince your ideas, engage and make a positive impact. The Orator movement was founded by Dagnija Lejiņa , a reputable management and public relations professional with more than 20 years of experience , and Laura Vanaga , a recruitment consultant and author of books such as Yoga and Sales and How to Succeed in Latvia . Each of us has our own story about speaking. About fear. None of us was born a natural orator, perhaps even the opposite. As a child, Dagny twitched her tongue, fears of fear of failure and unspoken words, but stubbornness prevailed. In her recitation circles, she constantly regained the courage to speak in front of people by practicing. From children's days, Laura played the violin and piano, performed complex compositions in concerts, but when she had to go on stage later in life to speak and express her own thoughts, unbearable lamp fever prevailed. However, in preparation, preparation and re-preparation for each presentation, panic slowly turned into adrenaline and fear into pleasant excitement. Each of us has a story about how to overcome fear. Just like parachuting, climbing the tallest tower or picking up a spider, a performance can be an unforgettable moment that allows you to get to know yourself and gain a new, emotionally charged experience. We have experienced this and know that training to perform in public can build self-confidence, motivation and self-confidence. Sitting aside and fearing what others will say will not change the world. You will only waste your time and potential. Modesty can be eradicated, fear can be overcome. Stage floodlights and eye views are just another test for us. It's not easy, but you can prepare for it. That is why we are here.
