IBGR.Network - PROFIT Radio. Everything a business owner needs to start, grow or exit a business. GROW WITH US.

Introduction
In the 5 pillars framework of Playing your A-Game from the inside out, the focus up until now has been on building clarity, communication and confidence within Dynamic Business Partnerships. This week we explore the importance of what diverse leadership looks like and the richness it will bring to your business. It doesn't matter how small or big you are, the smart thing when building the people side of your business is to attract talent that allows you to build a diverse workforce. Investing time in understanding what you need is key.

Growing the people part of your business is exciting and is no doubt one of your biggest investments in terms of money and time. You want to get it right and planning for the growth is necessary. As you have established, “Who is the captain of your ship” you now continue to develop the specific roles and responsibilities you as partners have and communicate these to the wider group. Remember clarity is key, as I always say a confused client will not buy and a confused team member will not perform to their highest potential.  What makes Dynamic Business Partnership successful is the understanding of each other's strengths and super powers.

Dynamic partnerships can set you ahead of the game and create massive gains if set up well. So is it genius or a recipe for disaster? Let’s work on making it a genius undertaking.

Show Objective
In this episode we explore what diverse leadership is,  why it is important to consider and the richness it brings to your partnership and business. I remember the days where we used to say leave your problems at the door, it never sat well with me and I realised why about  10 years ago. In order to be the best version of yourself you need to be able to bring all of you and allow yourself the best possible opportunity to perform at your best.

Key issues for dynamic business partnerships
  • Understanding the idea of diverse leadership but unsure how to create it
  • Hiring people that are alike versus people that are different to you and your partner(s) (starts with not having defined role descriptions)
  • Hungry for new ideas and innovation however not able to access
  • Not having a deep understanding of unique qualities that exist
  • Level of focus and priority, being busy with the doing in the business vs the building

What you need to know
  • Understanding the impact of diverse leadership
  • Assess your culture, take the temperature in your business, what are your core values, are they current?
  • Understand your current workforce and the people you require

What you need to do
  • Invest in ongoing leadership development of yourself, your partners and your team
  • Set up innovation discussion meeting, encourages people to bring ideas and feedback, create an environment of trust
  • Allow people to be part of your path forward, many studies have shown when people feel part of the bigger picture it doesn't only retain talent but they are also better performers which = happier workforce
  • Understanding that each individual = unique
  • Commit to the development of ongoing programs

Shows
