Over the last four weeks, we have covered the Success Habits of Self-Confidence, Initiative, Enthusiasm, and Self Control. Now it is time to put them all into practice by cultivating and using the Success Habit of Over Delivering. By making habits of the previous episode topics, you are now ready to begin adding the habit of over delivering and be rewarded by the benefits that come with it.

Objectives - The WHY 
Very often the overwhelmed business owner does not employ the Habit of Over Delivering but getting in this habit is a great way to grow your business fast. When you over deliver, your clients will want to tell others about what you did and it builds brand loyalty.

Key Issues - Owner Perspective:
  1. Abundance vs. Scarcity mindset
  2. Add added value not just products & services to stay top of mind
  3. This is NOT giving away everything for free
  4. Use the Law of Reciprocity
  5. Law of Cause and Effect

What You Need to Know - The WHAT
  • A scarcity mindset is the belief that there will never be enough, resulting in feelings of fear, stress, and anxiety. On the other hand, an abundance mindset flows out of a deep inner sense of personal worth and security. It's grounded in the belief that there is more than enough for everyone.
  • Giving more is not depleting. It actually has the opposite effect because it activates the law of cause and effect and the law of reciprocity. 
  • Law of Cause & Effect: Every effect has a specific and predictable cause. Every cause or action has a specific and predictable effect. This means that everything that we currently have in our lives is an effect that is a result of a specific cause.
  • Law of Reciprocity: says that when someone does something nice for you, you will have a deep-rooted psychological urge to do something nice in return. As a matter of fact, you may even reciprocate with a gesture far more generous than their original good deed.
  • When we practice the habit of over delivering, we become the cause and the law of reciprocity becomes the effect. 
  • The habit of Over Delivering is like planting seeds. How many apples are in one apple seed? The better question is how many apple trees are in one seed? When we practice the habit of over delivering, we have the opportunity to receive the abundance of all the apples or the trees. 


What You Need to Do​​ - The HOW
  1. Be thoughtful, be caring, be top of mind. 
  2. Take a look at your current offerings and determine what extra value you can add. This could be a bonus, tools or anything of perceived value. 
  3. Know and then exceed client expectations 
  4. Send thank you notes and thinking of your cards
  5. Be a good finder - look for ways to add extra value throughout your day even if it is not work related.
