Show Objectives - The Why By the end of our time together you will...Understand why it is important as a Business owner or Entrepreneur not to park yourself in your comfort zone….That’s not where you make an impact. That’s not where you build a successful business… You often hear the saying ‘get out of your comfort zone’ but what is the ‘comfort zone’ exactly and why do we happily stay inside it even if deep down we know it might not be the best place for us to be. The following is a simple description of the comfort zone: To understand what is inside your comfort zone, a great simple exercise is to draw a circle on a piece of paper. Everything you are experiencing in your life right now is inside your comfort zone (your circle): your current state of health, your personal fitness, your style of parenting, the friendships you have, your current job, your financial state, and so much more. Everything you desire in your life, but do not currently have is just outside the circle, and to get it inside you’re probably going to have to do something new or different. You’re going to have to step outside of your comfort zone. “If you want to have something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done” I will discuss the 7 reasons, mentioned below and why stepping outside your comfort zone is a must # 1 – Personal Growth – The law of the rubber band states that Growth Stops When You Lose The Tension Between Where You Are And Where You Could Be. # 2 – Create Momentum – that is created out of that zone…. # 3 – Increase Productivity – goes hand in hand with momentum (slow and steady inside the zone….comfortable) # 4 – Eliminate Fear – Action does that. # 5 – The Performance Zone – Uncomfortable actions will lead to incredible results # 6 – Self fulfilled – Satisfaction of achievement….like climbing your own mount Everest. # 7 – Profound impact on others – When you stand up, when you speak up, you stand out. There are many personal development books on the market. As an executive director in the John Maxwell Team, I got introduced to that team, where we have more than 35k coaches, trainers and speakers in over 160 countries, by someone inviting me to a virtual MMG…in 2012!!! This was about the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, with amazing content on this important subject…I have just created a complete video series for those that want to watch and listen to this indeed invaluable content. Personal Growth is a must and you should all have a personal growth plan. Is it comfortable?...probably not, but when it becomes a habit and you start to see the positive results, you’ll love it and will not want to stop. …if you do not know what that is or need help creating YOUR plan, get in touch with me. As a coach, I can most certainly help and guide you. Momentum is your best friend When you start to challenge yourself to step out from your comfort zone a natural momentum occurs. What can seem like small marginal gains start to stack together and the multiplying effect of the small gains in a number of areas creates a force and rhythm which becomes self-perpetuating. It just cannot be stopped. “When a train is stationary, even a small obstacle on the line will stop it from moving. When that same train is moving at full speed, even a brick wall would not be able to stop it” The value of Productivity The productive person makes good use of everything he finds. With increased levels of focus, self-confidence and belief you make stuff happen. You become a very productive person, doing things you never thought possible. As a productive person, your goal is to increase your value by learning whenever you can, using resources wisely, developing new ideas and staying on task. Productivity is the way towards progress, growth and a positive future. I am discussing some benefits of being productive, and steps to follow to increase your productivity. Eliminate Fear Your mind can work for you or against you. You have absolutely 100% control over how you think. However, you cannot leave it to chance; It has to be by choice! If you don’t pro-actively program your mind to work for you then by default it will subconsciously start to work against you….if you are not making your own choices because you are fearful, someone else will…and thus decide your life, your journey, your destiny. Some of you may need to face the FEAR factor:
Which emotion is stronger: Your desire to grow, your desire to develop a flourishing business, or one of the fears I just mentioned? The Performance Zone – Uncomfortable actions will lead to incredible results Through stretching and pushing the boundaries, testing new ideas, failing fast and recovering quickly, discovering what works and bottling it so you can replicate it again, you will naturally step outside your comfort zone and operate in the space I call the performance zone. The zone where you deliver incredible results. The zone where you just make stuff happen. The difference between a winner and a whiner:
Be Self fulfilled Satisfaction of achievement….like climbing your own mount Everest. So many people wake up every day with that aching feeling of underachievement… the realisation that they’re not quite living their life to the full. We have zero control over the length of our lives but we have 100% control over the breadth and depth of it. There is a saying: “It is not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years” …There are people who only live a short life but who have achieved so much more than the vast majority of those who live to a ripe old age… Profound impact on others When you stand up, when you speak up, you stand out. We all like to hang round with people we admire, who challenge us to be the best version of ourselves. People who we can learn from and perhaps most importantly…who inspire us to step out of our own comfort zone. When you spend time stepping outside your comfort zone amazing things happen… You are capable of so much more than you ever believed possible. They still haven’t found what the human brain is capable off so why do most of us live with self limiting beliefs? Why do so many of us think we can’t do certain things? Why do so many of us already defeat ourselves before we even start something? Your goals, your aspirations, your destiny …it’s all waiting for you with open arms.
