INTRODUCTION
It is said that relationships are built on trust. Trust can be elusive to define, and like most terms depends on the context within it is used.  Season 4 of Better You 4U – An Entrepreneur’s Journey focuses on building your community. Building a community requires trust, not just your audience trusting you, but also you trusting yourself to deliver on the promise of your brand or product. Building trust in a relationship takes time and typically does not happen overnight.  This is true for personal and business relationships. 

We live in an age of “over-information” which causes a lot of noise in the marketplace.  

We are inundated with information and offers in every email and on every website.  When a customer finds you, your website, will they trust you? Another question is why they would trust you, your company or brand. Trust is a foundational pillar that you need to understand in order to build your community. 

One of the most effective marketing strategies is still word of mouth.  People are more likely to buy and support products that they can envision a person like themselves buying or using.  

The power of Your brand is the power of your community! 

Show Objectives - The Why
The context of the season’s shows is all about building your community.  Your community of customers and brand ambassadors will help you expand the impact of your business and grow your profits. The objective today’s show is to discuss trust and its role in building the relationships that you need in order to create the community that will power your business to the next level of growth. At the end of our time together today you will have an understanding of the essential elements for building and leveraging trust to build community capital. 


Key Issues - Owner Perspective:
If you are in the process of building or attracting your community, know that success does not happen overnight.  Building anything takes time and you want to make sure that you have a solid foundation before you start.  If you have an existing community then you will understand all the more how to leverage the trust that you have built to continue to expand your community and to covert community members into raving fans of your products and services. 

  • Relationships are built on Trust
  • Trust is built on reliability and consistency
  • Trust is built over time but can be lost in instant
  • What happens after the sale is almost as important as what led to the sale.

What You Need to Know - The What
One of the key goals in building a community is to increase your ability to help your customers.  Did you know that for the average business there is a 5 to 20% conversion rate that cold prospects will become paying customer? The conversion rate on selling that same product or service to existing customers is 60-70%! It is easier to sell to your existing customers then it is to acquire new customers.  This is what you want to build a community around your company, products or brand!  

  • The building blocks of trust
  • You attract who you are, not just who you project
  • Every interaction trains your customers in what to expect
  • Communication is about more than words or intent – What is the response

What You Need to Do - The How
  • Understand the difference between customer service and customer experience
  • Consider the customer experience and design every interaction with that experience in mind.
  • Develop avenues of entry to introduce your potential customers to your company
  • Build your audience by continuously providing value
  • Build a Trustworthy brand
