In today’s show I will talk into Values includes valuing your people - The role that values play in any organization is dependent on how valued people feel.

Key Issues - Owner Perspective:

The journey of an Entrepreneur can sometimes be a lonely one in the pursuit of excellence and success. Many delve into and invest in quick fix methods meant to motivate and inspire them in different areas of business, yet many never follow through. My Podcasts guide and inspire Entrepreneurs in every aspect of their growth plan, by giving them real life tools to challenge their beliefs, find their voice, gain clarity in their vision and feel encouraged about their journey. The rich content filled shows are based on my own journey from uncertainty to continuous growth and finding my own purpose and vision as an Entrepreneur.

I never ever gave values much of a thought; Yes, being brought up by amazing parents, all 5 of us children were taught values to live by. As life progressed into adulthood, I always did, and still do, my very best to uphold all those values. Do I succeed every day? No doubt I don’t and that’s why I need a constant reminder to keep making those small adjustments to keep me on course, just like an autopilot does in an aero plane.

Does that mean I am a bad person? I certainly don’t think so as I strive to do my best and add value to others as often as possible.

Things changed for me in 2013 when values were responsible for me to step out of the corporate and into the entrepreneurial world. No, I did not kill my boss, although giving him a slap at times crossed my mind.

I was privileged to be part of a team to take part in the start of transformation of the beautiful country of Guatemala. For the first time I came across THE most powerful and impactful program I have ever experienced, Values Based Leadership. I will talk into that and its importance for entrepreneurs and society as a whole.

What You Need to Know - The What

Leadership around the world is failing due to a total lack of values, which has become apparent so much more in the last year.

Many organizations have sets of amazing values proudly displayed on their walls, often as you walk into the building, for all to see, as well as on all their literature.

How many people working there, including top management, could remember those values if asked? How many actually know the meaning of those values? How many people practice them?

These are some of the questions I will discuss today, as it is difficult to talk about the values you, or your organization hold dearly, when you do not really value your employees, your colleagues, friends, or family members.

“People of value, value people”

What are your values as an entrepreneur? How do you treat others around you? If your family and friends were asked those questions about you, would you be proud of the answers they came up with?

We have all heard about treating people right, not just because we want them to buy from us, as that leans towards manipulation, but because they are our fellow human beings.

“Treat others as they want to be treated”

What would happen to our businesses if we just started to work on improving relationships built on solid foundations of basic human values?

Every day, ask yourself some simple but powerful questions:

What did I do well?
What could I have done better?
What do I need to change?
What did I learn from today?

Then take those experiences into tomorrow so you will, for sure, grow in life and business.

Remember:
Change does not happen just by chance, it happens by choice.
Choose wisely!
